This scheme has been set up to support small businesses whose trade has been adversely affected due to Covid-19

What do you need to know…

  • Small Business Grant Fund issuing payments up to £10,000
  • Retail, Hospitality and Leisure grant fund – £10,000-£25,000
  • Per property not per business
  • Ratepayer of the property on 11th March 2020
  • Councils instructed to pay asap – most have now done so
  • Car parks and parking spaces do not qualify
  • Grant received are taxable but not repayable

Eligibility…

  • Businesses who receive small business rates relief
  • Retail, Hospitality, Leisure sector businesses in England with rateable value of less than £15,000 eligible for grant up to £10,000 per property
  • Retail, Hospitality, Leisure sector businesses in England with rateable value of between £15,000 and £51,000 eligible for grant up to £25,000 per property
  • Not eligible if rateable value exceeds £51,000

If you think you are eligible and haven’t been contacted by your Local Council, make some enquiries as you may well be.


Business Support Grant Funding

This “TOP UP “scheme has been launched to enable Local Authorities to provide additional support on a discretionary basis to help certain small businesses who were outside the scope of the original scheme
What do you need to know…

  • New Top Up Scheme
  • Aimed at businesses with ongoing fixed property costs
  • Priority given to businesses operating from shared workspaces
  • Access to grant funding to business excluded from original scheme
  • Discretionary funding via Local Authority
  • Payments based on economic need

Eligibility…

  • Small Businesses with ongoing fixed property costs, primarily
  • Those operating from share workspaces, regular market traders and B&B’s that pay Council tax instead of Business rates.

Tip!!!
If you think you are eligible and haven’t been contacted by your Local Council, make some enquiries as you may well be, particularly under this extended scheme.
